Dr James Tan graduated from NUS in 1990. In 1999, he completed his advanced training in Urology at NUH and SGH. A year later, he received the HMDP Fellowship and Clinical Fellowship in Urological Cancer Surgery (Canada). He further trained in Laparoscopic Urology (Key-hole Surgery) in Taiwan, the US and France. In 2002, he underwent Robotic Surgery training at Henry Ford Hospital in the US.

Dr Tay Kah Phuan graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1982. He completed his Masters of Medicine in Surgery in 1989, and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1989.
Dr Tay started his training in Urology in 1989. He was awarded the Ministry of Health HMDP Scholarship in 1992 to train at the Department of Urology, Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. He underwent sub-specialty training in prostate disease and stone management.
Dr Tay was appointed as a Consultant in Urology in 1996. He is involved in various medical committees within the hospital.
Dr Tay has numerous publications in peer reviewed local and international medical journals and book chapters. He has been invited to deliver lectures on many issues in Urology at local and regional meetings and continuous medical education activities.
Dr Tay will provide elective and emergency services in all aspects of Urology, with special interest in prostate disease, stones, and erectile dysfunction.
