Dr Chan is a Consultant General Surgeon practicing in Gleneagles Medical Centre. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1986. He was admitted as a Fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in June 1991 and completed his Masters in Medicine (Surgery) in August 1991 and FAMS from Academy of Medicine (Singapore) in June 1997. Dr Chan pursued his further training at Massachusetts General Hospital,USA; as a Clinical Fellow in the Department of Surgery. He also had his Surgery training at Lahey Clinic in Burlington Massachusetts, USA; Department of General Surgery in 1996 where he functioned as a Chief Resident in the Department.
On return from his training in America he was practicing as a Consultant surgeon at the Department of Surgery, Singapore General Hospital and the Department of Surgical Oncology at the National Cancer Centre.
Over and above the routine general surgical procedures, Dr Chan has a sub-specialty interest in minimally invasive surgery, oncology surgery (cancer surgery) of the gastro intestinal tract (aesophagus, stomach, colon an rectum and the pancreas), thyroid, and breast.

Dr Chew graduated from the University of Singapore in 1975. He obtained his Masters in Medicine in Surgery (NUS) in 1978.
He was admitted as a Fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Glasgow in 1978.

DR GOH HAK - SU

Dr Goh Hak-Su was a British charity trust scholar graduating from King's College, London University with a double degree in Science and Medicine. He did his postgraduate surgical training in England and acquired his Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, Eng land. His training in colorectal surgery was under Sir Ian Todd at St Mark's Hospital for Diseases of Rectal & Colon, London.
Dr Goh was with the department of Surgery, National University of Singapore from 1981. In 1989, he established the Department of Colorectal Surgery at the Singapore General Hospital, the first such department in Southeast Asia. He published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and contributed chapters in authoritative textbooks on colorectal surgery and colorectal cancer. He has lectured worldwide and was honoured with the Galloway Memorial Lecture in Singapore, the Joint Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and Academy of Medicine (Singapore) Lecture in Edinburgh, the Edward Wilson Lecture in Sydney, the Harry Bacon Oration in Jodhpur, and the WG Smith Lecture in Perth. ˇ°For his outstanding contribution and guidance in promoting colorectal cancer researchˇ±, he was awarded the Singapore National Science and Technology Medal in 1995.
Dr Goh is a member of the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons, a member of the Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland, founding chairman of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons (Singapore), inaugural chairman of the Asean Society of Colorectal Surgeons and a vice-president of the International Society of University Colorectal Surgeons.
Dr Goh started his private practice at Gleneagles Medical Centre in 1995.

DR LOW SZE CHUAN

Dr Low has dedicated himself exclusively to the diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant breast conditions. His clinic is equipped with technology appropriate for diagnostic procedures such as, Ultrasound evaluation, Ultrasound Guided Fine Needle aspiration , Core Needle Biopsy, Kopan wire localization and Mammotome vacuum-assisted biopsy. Minor breast operations such as open Excision of Breast Lumps and Microdochectomy are also performed in the clinic operating theatre. Major Curative Procedures for Breast Cancer are performed in the hospital operating theatres (Gleneagles, Mount Elizabeth and other private hospitals).
Dr Low has also been involved in managing breast disease at the national level, and was a member of the Singapore Breast Screening Project and Singapore Breast Cancer Registry planning committees. He is also a Visiting Consultant (Breast Surgery) to Changi General Hospital and The National Cancer Centre.
Dr Low Sze Chuan was a recipient of the Local Merit Scholarship (Medicine) in 1978 and obtained his MBBS at the National University of Singapore in 1983. After qualifying in General Surgery (FRCSEdin 1988), he received the HMDP Scholarship (Ministry of Health, Singapore) for training in Breast Surgery at City Hospital, Nottingham, UK, in 1991-1992.
Dr Low was awarded the Alan Edwards Prize for the Best Paper at the 43rd Meeting of the British Association of Surgical Oncology in London, UK in 1991.
Dr Low has vast clinical experience in Breast Disease. He has personally managed 6,631 breast patients and performed over 600 major breast cancer operations.

Dr Ngoi graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1981 and was admitted as Fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow) in1985, Fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and completed Master of Medicine (surgery) (Singapore) in 1986.
Dr Ngoi had the honour of the recipient of many scholarships namely Local Merit Scholarhip in Medicine, Summer Course Scholarship in Sophia University, Japan, FRACS Scholarship, Singapore Cancer Society Overseas Research Scholar and Cornell Medical College, New York - Cancer Prevention Fund Research Scholar.
Prior to the settlement as a Private Consultant at the Gleneagles Hospital, Dr Ngoi had held several posts as Medical Officer, Senior Tutor, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor and Consultant Surgeon at both the Singapore General Hospital and the National University Hospital, Singapore.
Dr Ngoi had also several academic attachments at Department of Surgery, Univesity of Hong Kong, Queen Mary Hospital, Endoscopic Unit, St. Marks Hospital, United Kingdom, and Department of Surgery, The New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Centre.

Dr See graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1985 and obtained his postgraduate surgical qualifications from NUS and the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and Glasgow in 1990. He had previously worked at the Singapore General Hospital, Changi General Hospital and the former Toa Payoh Hospital.
He was Senior Registrar at the Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research in London in 1995 and 1996 in Head and Neck Surgery and Surgical Oncology. He has special interest in Head and Neck Surgery, Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery and Surgical Oncology (Cancer Surgery).

DR TAY KHOON HEAN

Dr Tay did his undergraduate medical education at the National University of Singapore graduating with MBBS in 1998. He subsequently obtained his surgical fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 1995. He completed his Advanced Surgical Training in General Surgery in April 1998.
His subsequent training was done under the tutelage of two world renowned surgeons. He was awarded a Traveling Fellowship Scholarship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow to understudy Prof Alfred Cushieri in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, Scotland for advance laparoscopic surgery. Dr Tay who speaks fluent French also spent a year of his HMDP training with Prof Bernard Launois at the Pontchaillou Hospital, University de Rennes, Brittany, France for Hepatobiliary Surgery.
Dr Tay's areas of expertise are in hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) and advanced laparoscopic (minimally invasive surgery) surgery with particular emphasis on difficult gallbladder and bile duct operations, laparoscopic Nissen's fundoplication, lap gastric banding for obesity, major hepatic resections utilizing the French techniques in pancreas resectional operations, the pylorus preserving pancreatoduodenectomy (PPPD) for cancers of the head of pancreas.
In addition to serving various medical committees both locally and internationally (including the Academy of Tropical Surgery, World Health Organization), Dr Tay is also active as a committee member in the Singapore Swimming Association and a council member of the North-West Community Development Council (CDC).

Dr Wong is a consultant general surgeon with a special interest in colorectal surgery currently practising in Gleneagles hospital. He graduated from NUS in 1988 and has worked in Toa Payoh Hospital, Singapore General Hospital, Alexandra Hospital and Changi General Hospital up till 2004 during which time he served as a consultant surgeon.
Dr Wong was part of a medical team during operation Desert Storm in 1991 in the gulf war for 2 months attached to the 205 Territorial Army Surgical Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
He completed his FRCS (Edinburgh) and MMED (Surg) post graduate qualifications in 1993 and was awarded the Chapter of Surgeons Gold Medal for distinction in the examination. Dr Wong obtained his exit qualification in general surgery, FAMS in 1999. He also spent 3 years training in a colorectal subspecialty having trained a year as fellow in the department of Colorectal surgery, Singapore General Hospital. He was given a 2 year HMDP fellowship which was spent at the University of Minnesota as a colorectal fellow in 1997/98 and a laparoscopic fellow at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio from 1998/99. During this time, he was awarded the outstanding research fellow award at the Cleveland Clinic. In 2001, Dr Wong was awarded the Chapter of Surgeons travelling fellowship and visited Omiya Medical Centre. Jichii Medical School where he was exposed to advanced endoscopic and laparoscopic techniques in colorectal surgery.
Dr Wong has special interests in anorectal surgery, laparoscopic colon surgery and endoscopy.
